![]() When she's done Sims can befriend her and hang out with her. ![]() ![]() Sometimes living in a haunted house, playful specters will cause messes or make Sims too scared to cook food, this can be solved by summoning Bonehilda to help cater for the house and prepare food, making her a no-charge maid. After completing the gigs, Sims will earn money and sometimes spooky gifts that can help with specters of their own. This comes in three difficulty settings and involves multiple ways of trying to get rid of specters. Sims who are skilled mediums can acquire a license to become a paranormal investigator and exorcise unwanted specters from other homes. This is similar to the Ghost hunter profession introduced in The Sims 3: Ambitions. Sims can ask for help from Claude René Duplantier Guidry on how to deal with specters and how to have an easier time living with specters. When the ghosts do get sad or angry, Sims living in the house will get scared more often and possibly be attacked by mischievious specters. This is different to the spooky lot trait in that haunted houses have a host of additions coming from specters who regularly appear at night, specters at first will be friendly and will start have their moods lowered when not interacted with for a long while or failures when contacting them. This pack features a new lot type under residential lots called a "Haunted House". With spooky activity on the rise, it’s up to your Sim to put a stop to it. Remove accursed objects, perform a seance, communie with the dead, and receive gifts from specters! You can even summon Bonehilda the skeletal maid.Ĭalm the Spirits – Master the Medium skill and impress Guidry to get a Paranormal Investigator license! Once you’re ready, take on some freelance gigs to expel unwelcome visitors for other Sims. Meet Ghastly Roomates – Your new-to-you home might be home to someone else, too, if it’s one of the new Haunted House Lots! Appease the mischievous specters to relax in serenity, or let them run amok for scares day and night.Ĭleanse Your Home – If you want to send your new roomates packing, Guidry the Ghost is happy to advise you. Light the candles and prepare the rituals to appease your ghastly new roomates in The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack! Spectral guests cause mischief and mayhem on Haunted House Lots, but Sims can perform a seance, befriend Guidry the Ghost, become a Paranormal Investigator, and restore order. The hairstyles in particular are worth mentioning – it is clear the team has made a more concerted effort to properly reflect the diversity of players out there, particularly when compared to the content they were putting out a few years back.Official description The cherry on top in this pack is a strong variety of hairstyles, clothing, and objects that shows how much more confident the developers have become in designing new items. All of these elements combine for a cohesive experience that offers fresh ways to tell stories with your Sims. But there's also a freelance paranormal investigator career, a fully-realised NPC in Guidry the Ghost, a Medium skill, the return of Bonehilda, and items such as the séance table that can be interacted with. The new Haunted House lot type has a noticeable effect on gameplay, as Sims must learn to live with troublesome spectres (there's now a new 'Scared' mood). It's a pack that will not thematically appeal to everyone – likely putting off players who want to keep all things supernatural out of their game – but is also rich in content, putting the early Stuff Packs to shame. Tiny Living Stuff encouraged a new style of gameplay, while Nifty Knitting Stuff added a much-welcome hobby and fleshed it out properly. ![]() The developers, however, have struck a consistent level of quality as of late, with the last couple of Stuff Packs being winners. There were ups and downs over the next few years – Laundry Day Stuff remains one of our favourites for how it enhanced everyday life, but it was followed by the controversial My First Pet Stuff. It offered new possibilities for storytelling. Things improved from 2017's Bowling Night Stuff, a pack centred on bowling that let players create their own venues and level up their Sims' bowling skill. There's always been a 'pick and mix' quality to Stuff Packs – you're only supposed to go for the ones that appeal to you.īut when you consider that you can buy one meaty Game Pack for the price of two slight Stuff Packs, the difference in value is clear. The average player isn't going to buy every single pack after all. On paper, it's not necessarily a bad thing. This led to Stuff Packs that felt niche – themes have included, for example, Halloween parties and kitchen objects. The idea behind Stuff Packs early on appeared to be based on providing a selection of Create-a-Sim and Build/Buy items connected to a certain theme, along with a minor gameplay feature (popcorn maker, anyone?). ![]()
